Richard "Ricky" Ivey Albright - Class Of 1969

Richard Ivey Albright, 72, of Alexander City, Alabama, passed away after a brave battle with brain cancer on May 2, 2024. Born on May 29, 1951, in Alexandria, Virginia, he was the beloved son of Boland Richard Albright and Elizabeth May Cressman Albright.

Ricky graduated from Sidney Lanier High School in Montgomery, Alabama, and later earned a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Alabama. He also proudly served as a Chaplain's Assistant in the Air National Guard.

Throughout his life, he was an avid golfer, hunter, and fisherman, known for his love of the outdoors and his skill in the kitchen, especially with his cherished Big Green Eggs.

Professionally, Ricky spent much of his career at Southern Duo-Fast, a family business established in 1956. Joining in 1975, he contributed significantly to its growth and success until his retirement in 1999.

Ricky is survived by his loving wife, Melissa Walker Albright; his son, Ricky Ivey Albright, III; his brother, William Hunter Albright and sister-in-law Priscilla Harvey Albright; along with his beloved nieces and nephew, Hunter Albright, Elizabeth Gorsuch, and Amanda Turner.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on May 8, 2024, at 2 pm at First United Methodist Church, 3266 US-280, Alexander City, AL 35010.
