Rachael Fuller (Perkins) (1934-2013) - Class Of 1952

Rachael Fuller Perkins passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Monday, May 27, 2013. Rachael was born in Montgomery, Alabama, on January 15, 1934, to Cary Winston Fuller and Rachael Humphrey Fuller.

She graduated from Sidney Lanier High School and Huntingdon College in Montgomery. She was married to William Oscar Perkins from 1956 until his death in 1993.

After graduating from college, she worked for the Girl Scouts of the USA in Pineville, La.  Mrs. Perkins received numerous recognitions for her work with the Girl Scouts of the USA as well as her volunteer positions with the American Red Cross and SARCOA.

She is survived by her children, Kathy Perkins Williams (Garland) of Phoenix, Ariz., Bill Perkins (Bettye Forbus) of Dothan; and Susan Perkins Casanas (Elias) of Lawrenceville, GA., her grandchildren, Rebecca Williams (and fiance, Meg Heineke) and Leah Williams, all of Auburn, Elias David Casanas, Ileana Casanas Yarbray and Cheryl Casanas Armstrong. She is also survived by her brother, Cary Fuller and sister, Frances Fuller Green (Frank) of Montgomery.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Joe Johnson and Joe Copeland officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 to 11:30 A.M. Wednesday, May 29, 2013. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Dothan-Houston County Library System, P.O. Box 1369, Dothan, AL 36302, or The Wiregrass Chapter of the American Red Cross.
